A dangerous “missing link” exists on the Burke Gilman Trail between 14th Avenue NW and the Hiram Chittendam Locks in Ballard. For a number of years, cyclists and citizens have urged the City of Seattle to find and develop the most viable route through this portion of the trail. A number of alternatives have been developed, but court battles have prevented their construction. Margaret was the lead consultant to manage the public involvement program for an Environmental Impact Statement related to improvements through the Missing Link. Finally, after some 15 years of attempted solutions, all parties have been able to agree on a new route through this area.
